The Truths I Hold
It’s okay to be human. The answers are within you. You don’t have to do this alone. Growth isn’t a race. Self-compassion is the way forward. You are the guardian of your life. You belong.
While earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services with an emphasis in Victim Services, and my Master’s Degree in Counseling Studies, I worked as a victim assistance specialist, supporting survivors of crime. After 10 years in that role, I became the Director of a medical model abuse assessment center, a position I held for twelve years. Throughout my career, I’ve also served as an expert witness in court and an Adjunct Professor in Human Development, Family Issues, Youth Services, and Forensic Victimology at Washburn University and Bemidji State University. I’ve supported thousands of women and children through crises.
In an instant, everything I knew changed. As I continued to work and care for my family and myself, I struggled to know what steps to take next.
I realized that the way forward was to look inward. With guidance from an intuitive, the book shop downtown, and my own curated playlist, I developed the tools I needed to access my own wisdom. I learned to ditch the “shoulds,” leave the past behind, and focus on what I could control to create the life I envisioned.
After reclaiming my life, I honed my purpose: to guide women from their breaking points to their turning points. I’m honored to watch each magical metamorphosis as a woman learns to stand in her own power.
